1. What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is an imagination process of focused attention that bridges over the conscious, critical mind, to the subconscious creative mind. Suggestions given either by hypnotist in guided hypnosis or by the self in self-hypnosis are more likely to be accepted when this gap between conscious and subconscious has been connected through hypnotic protocol of self-suggestion. As a result of this natural communication and rapport between conscious and subconscious, self is able to create desired acceptable thinking.

2. How Does It Work?

To understand hypnosis, you must understand that the mind works on two levels we call conscious and subconscious. The subconscious controls our habits and every day to day behaviors. The conscious merely carries out the wishes of the subconscious. By distracting and subduing the conscious mind during hypnosis the subconscious is allowed to focus and accept the new message. Suggestions heard during hypnosis are four times more likely to be accepted in this state of trance.

3. Will It Work for Me?

For the most part, hypnosis works for anyone consenting to follow directions and desiring a change in thinking behavior. Low IQ or those mentally challenged usually aren’t good candidates for hypnosis, including those who have some kind of FEAR of the experience. Otherwise, anyone who cooperates and has a reasonable commitment to changing unwanted behavior finds great results. That explains why often our clients tell us their new habits were easy to make!

4. Is Hypnosis Safe?

Sure it’s safe! It’s actually beneficial to your body on many levels, both physical and emotional. You’re always in control even though it often “feels like sleep.” Most people find Hypnosis relaxing and a fun way to improve their lives.

5. What About Hypnosis and Weight Loss?

Changing your inner dialog through hypnotic suggestion changes your outer behavior with food habits. Other behaviors such as improved exercise and hydration, as well as thinking and problem solving skills generate overall health and weight loss. Hypnosis allows the subconscious to signal conscious behavior by recognizing when you are full so you eat less and eat better. Hypnosis programs these appropriate eating strategies into the subconscious which explains why new behavior seems to “feel natural” upon emerging.

6. Can Hypnosis Really Help Me Stop Smoking?

Smoking is something you learned to do. You weren’t born with a cigarette clutched in your tiny baby hand. Over time, smoking became a habit directed by the subconscious mind. Because Hypnosis works directly with the subconscious, it is a behavioral tool that makes sense to use! Hypnosis helps you eliminate the habitual triggers that caused you to light up. And, it’s true, deep relaxation associated with Hypnosis can calm down the emotional trauma usually associated with quitting. Hypnotherapy, for most, creates a safe and easy transition to living life as a clean air breather.
